Celebrate your wedding with us and you’ll share the experience of couples who have combined the time-honored traditions of wedding celebrations with the stunning architecture and contemporary styling of the Minnesota History Center. Your celebration is made special by a staff of experts who have years of industry experience. Every wedding reception is treated as a unique event catered specifically to your desires. As the only bride in the facility, it will certainly be your time to shine.

Your guests will enter the facility through a 65-foot high skylit dome. Here you will find a receiving table, gift table and coatroom. On this level the rotunda opens to a beautiful open lawn that may also create a beautiful setting for your pre-event photos. The second level of the rotunda mirrors the first, and will accommodate three hundred guests for dinner, overlooking the panoramic St. Paul skyline and the St Paul Cathedral. The Capital Corridor on the third level offers a view of the state capital through a 2 ½ story window. This area can be the site of your ceremony or used as a place for a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception and/or dancing. The possibilities are endless.

Bon Appétit Management Company is the exclusive caterer at the Minnesota History Center offering a full array of menu options with almost limitless customization capabilities. Café Minnesota’s dedicated staff will provide an exceptionally catered fine-dining experience for your event, complete with beautifully presented food that is alive with flavor. Café Minnesota Dinner prices – including salad and entrée courses -- begin at approximately $23.00 per person and include standard linens and votive candles. Our experienced team of event planners will happily work with other licensed vendors to supply things necessary for your event including: wedding cakes, specialty linens, equipment, décor, entertainment, photography and florals.

Events are held after normal museum hours between 6:30 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. and dates can be secured up to fifteen months in advance on a first come, first served basis.
Facility rental for hosting an evening reception -- with dinner and dancing --is $2,300.00 and includes:

  • On-site coordinator to arrange all the details and work with vendors
  • Space rental
  • Setup and takedown crew
  • Tables, Chairs and other Furniture Needs
  • Security
  • Parking
  • Sound System for Toasts

Ceremony space, which can accommodate up to 220 guests, is available for an additional $400.00 charge. Space use is associated with a $4000.00 food and beverage minimum for Friday or Sunday evening events and a $7000.00 food and beverage minimum for Saturday evenings.
